ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Missouri American Water has been honored as a finalist for the St. Louis
Regional Chamber’s Ameren Corporate Citizenship Award for demonstrating
exceptional commitment to enhancing the quality of life in the St. Louis
region.
The award honors the company’s AmerICANs volunteerism program, which
engages company employees in volunteering for a variety of good causes,
with a special focus on improving our water environment across the state.
In 2013, Missouri American Water’s AmerICANs program deployed 339
Missouri American Water employees to 30 community/charitable activities
in the St. Louis region. Many employees volunteer for multiple events.
In the St. Louis region, approximately 35 percent of employees donated
their time and talent to a variety of local organizations – from river
clean-ups, to Earth Day activities, to school programs.
Recognizing the value of employees’ donated time and talent, the
American Water Charitable Foundation matches up to 50 hours of employee
volunteer time and up to $1,000 of employee donations.
“This volunteer outreach program grew from our employees’ ethic of
donating time and talent to organizations that make our state a better
place,” said Missouri American Water President Frank Kartmann. “Every
volunteer makes a difference; and collectively, we are dedicated to the
communities that we serve.”
