Illinois American Water Issues Water Service Alert to Village of Glasford
Water distribution work will result in a temporary interruption to water service, followed by a boil water order on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022
Glasford, Ill. – (Dec. 26, 2022) – This week, Illinois American Water will complete a critical project in the Village of Glasford’s water distribution system. As a result of this work, water service will be temporarily interrupted on Wednesday, Dec. 28, to the Village of Glasford. To help customers prepare for this temporary interruption, bottled water will be available for pick up at Glasford’s Village Hall, located at 301 South Oak Street in Glasford, from 12-5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27. Customers should not arrive for bottled water prior to noon on Tuesday.
After the work is completed on Dec. 28 and water service is restored, a systemwide boil water order will be in effect for all Glasford customers. At that time, Glasford customers should bring their water to a rolling boil for five minutes before using water for drinking or cooking. Water is OK for bathing, laundry and other common uses. Customers are being notified of this impact to their water service in advance so they can prepare. Notification is being provided via media outreach, customer notification via calls and/or email based on customer account preferences and Illinois American Water website alerts at www.illinoisamwater.com. Information is also provided to our customer service center representatives. Landlords are required to keep tenants informed.
Notification will be completed in the same manner when the boil water order is lifted or if additional action is needed.
